Notice of Special Meeting – December 30, 2025

The Town Board of the Town of Lowville will hold a special meeting on December 30, 2024 at 9:15 a.m. at the Town/Village of Lowville Municipal Building at 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, New York. The purpose of this meeting is to finish any year-end business and to organize for the coming year. Any Town business properly presented may be addressed.

CERTIFICATE OF NO REFERENDUM

The undersigned is the duly appointed and acting Town Clerk of Lowville.  On August 15, 2024, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of funds from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund.  On August 28, 2024, notice of the adoption of such resolution with an abstract of its terms and notice that such resolution is subject to a permissive referendum was published in the official newspaper of the Town of Lowville.  I hereby certify that more than thirty days have passed since the adoption of such resolution and no petition for a permissive referendum has been filed in my office.

Public Hearing Notice

TOWN OF LOWVILLE, LEWIS COUNTY, NEW YORK

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT, in accordance with Section 202-b of the New York State Town Law, the Town Board of the Town of Lowville, Lewis County, New York (the “Town”) will conduct a public hearing on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at the Town of Lowville Municipal Building, located at 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, New York  13367, in the Town of Lowville, to consider the expenditure of $230,000.00 for the acquisition, construction and installation of improvements for Sewer District No. 1, including, but not limited to, the replacement or rehabilitation of the Brookside Pump Station and other facilities, and the acquisition of machinery, equipment or apparatus required in connection therewith.

2024 Standard Work Day and Reporting Resolution for Elected and Appointed Officials

MOTION By Councilman Ross, seconded by Councilman Monnat to adopt Resolution No. 25-2024  “Standard Work Day & Reporting
Resolution.”
 

ADOPTED – AYES –Farney, Monnat, Mullin, Ross      NAYS – 0        ABSENT – Virkler

BE IT RESOLVED, the Town Board of the Town of Lowville
hereby establishes the following as standard work days for the following
elected/appointed officials – Aimee L. Murphy, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, Selina
Olmstead, Deputy Town Clerk, Thomas N. Widrick, Highway & Special Districts
Superintendent, Robert Mullin, Town Supervisor and Amanda Eaves, Town
Justice  – and will report the officials
to the New York State and Local Retirement System based on their record of
activities maintained and submitted by these officials to the clerk of this
body and that said resolution be posted on the Town’s Official Website for at
least 30 days according to state requirements.

PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE & PROPERTY ASSESSMENT

Spencer Block – Village of Lowville

The Town of Lowville Town Board has scheduled a public hearing for Thursday, April 18th, 2024 at 9:45 AM at the Town Offices located at 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, New York. The purpose of the hearing is to obtain citizens’ views and comments relative to the submission of an application to Empire State Development for financial assistance under the Restore NY Communities Initiative. This project includes the renovation of 2 vacant floors in a 3-story building into a mixed-use building with housing units on the vacant second and third floors and retail space on the first floor. The following property will be submitted for consideration: 7623 North State Street, Lowville, 13,464 square foot property, 9,500 square foot building with a 6,500 square foot vacancy on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which is proposed for rehabilitation.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS

Water infrastructure improvements project

The Town of Lowville is seeking requests for the qualifications-based procurement of an engineering firm to assist with engineering tasks associated with a range of water infrastructure improvements and expansion, as described in the RFQ.  This RFQ can be obtained from the Town Clerk’s office.  All sealed proposals are to be mailed to: Aimee L. Murphy, Town Clerk; 5533 Bostwick Street; Lowville, New York 13367 or delivered in person between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.  All sealed proposals must be received on or before 3:00p.m. on Tuesday, April 9th, 2024.  Late proposals will not be considered.  Town of Lowville reserves the right to forego any formalities and reject any or all proposals.  Town of Lowville is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Expenditure of Highway Reserve Funds

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that at a Town Board meeting held February 15, 2024, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of up to Fifty thousand, six hundred ninety-six and 36/100 dollars ($50,696.36) from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund for the purpose of purchasing a new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 1LT Crew Cab 4WD.  This resolution is subject to permissive referendum.

The Town Board of the Town of Lowville will hold a public hearing at 09 45 a.m. on the 21st of March, 2024 at the Town Hall located at 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, New York with regard to an increase in sewer rates for all sewer districts located in the Town of Lowville, outside of the Village of Lowville.
