NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF LOWVILLE
FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACT for 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Town Board, Town of Lowville, on December 21, 2023 at 9:37 a.m. at 5533 Bostwick St., Lowville, NY, for the purpose of considering the renewal of the contract with the Lowville Fire Department, Inc. to provide for fire protection to the Lowville Fire Protection District for calendar year 2024.
The contract, as proposed, provides in general that: (a) the Lowville Fire Department, Inc. shall answer and attend all fire calls in said district; (b) the Lowville Fire Department, Inc. shall be paid the sum of $57,497.07 for such services; (c) the Lowville Fire Department, Inc. shall maintain and operate a fire station at State Street, Lowville, NY 13367; (d) the said Fire Company shall insure all of its equipment against all liability and shall protect the Town of Lowville from liability for any accident in which any Fire Company vehicle may be involved; (e) the term of the contract shall be for calendar year 2024; (f) such other incidental terms as may be necessary or proper. All interested persons residing in the area to be served or persons, firms or corporations owning real property within the area to be served, or whose business interest or employment would be affected, whether or not a resident, shall be heard at the meeting noticed above.

Purchase from Highway Equipment Reserve Subject to Permissive Referendum
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that at a Town Board meeting held November 16, 2023, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of up to Two hundred forty-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-six dollars ($249,996.00) from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund for the purpose of purchasing a new 2024 CAT 938 14A Wheel Loader. This resolution is subject to permissive referendum.

Notice of Public Hearing – Water & Sewer Budgets for 2024
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town Board of the Town of Lowville has completed its Budget for and in connection with the maintenance and operation of improvements, including equipment and facilities, serving Water District Nos. 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 and Sewer District Nos. 1,2, 3, 4 and 5 of said Town for fiscal year 2024 that the same were filed with the Town Clerk of the Town of Lowville and a public hearing will be held by the Town Board, Town of Lowville, at the Town offices, 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, NY 13367, on November 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. for the purpose of hearing any objections to said budget.

Notice of Public Hearing – Preliminary Budget 2024
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PRELIMINARY BUDGET for 2024
TOWN OF LOWVILLE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the preliminary budget of the Town of Lowville for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2024, including General Town Funds, Highway Funds, Water District and Sewer District Funds, and Fire District Funds, has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Lowville, 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, New York, 13367, where it is available for inspection by any interested person during normal office hours.
The Town Board of the Town of Lowville shall hold a public hearing on said preliminary budget on October 19, 2023 at 10:15 a.m., at the Lowville Town Hall, 5533 Bostwick St., Lowville, NY, showing such changes, alterations and revisions as shall have been made therein by the Town Board of the Town of Lowville. At such hearing, any person may be heard in favor of or against the preliminary budget as compiled or for or against any item or items therein contained.
The following are the proposed annual salaries of elected town officials of the Town of Lowville:
1. Town Supervisor: $17,000.00
2. Town Councilman (4): 4,000.00(each)
3. Town Justice(2): 17,500.00(each)
Citizens have the right to provide written and oral comments and ask questions concerning the entire budget and the relationships of entitlement funds to the entire budget. Handicapped citizens or senior citizens who require assistance in attending said public hearing, or in furnishing suggestions, should contact the undersigned Town Clerk to request such assistance.

Notice of Public Hearing – Benefit Assessment Rolls
The Town Board of the Town of Lowville will hold a public hearing at the regularly scheduled Town Board meeting on October 19, 2023 for the Benefit Assessment Rolls for Consolidated Water District#1. The public hearing will be at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at the Town Offices, 5533 Bostwick St., Lowville, New York.

CERTIFICATE OF NO REFERENDUM
The undersigned is the duly appointed and acting Town Clerk of Lowville. On July 20, 2023, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of funds from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund. On August 2, 2023, notice of the adoption of such resolution with an abstract of its terms and notice that such resolution is subject to a permissive referendum was published in the official newspaper of the Town of Lowville. I hereby certify that more than thirty days have passed since the adoption of such resolution and no petition for a permissive referendum has been filed in my office.

Restoring a Second Town Justice Position
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that at a Town Board meeting held August 17, 2023, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the restoring of a second Town Justice position for the Town of Lowville. This resolution is subject to permissive referendum.
