Permissive Referendum Notice

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that  at a Town Board meeting held October 20, 2022, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of up to Fifty-five thousand dollars ($55,000.00) from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund for the purpose of purchasing a new 2023 F350 Pickup Truck .  Also, the expenditure of up to Seven thousand six hundred dollars ($7,600.00)from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund for the purpose of purchasing a new 8 1/2′ Extreme-V Plow.  This resolution is subject to permissive referendum.

CERTIFICATE OF NO REFERENDUM

The undersigned is the duly appointed and acting Town Clerk of Lowville.  On March 17, 2022, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of funds from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund.  On March 30, 2022, notice of the adoption of such resolution with an abstract of its terms and notice that such resolution is subject to a permissive referendum was published in the official newspaper of the Town of Lowville.  I hereby certify that more that thirty days has passed since the adoption of such resolution and no petition for a permissive referendum has been filed in my office.

Notice of Completion of Tentative Assessment Roll

NOTICE OF COMPLETION OF TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT ROLL

(Pursuant to Section 506 and 1526 of the Real Property Tax Law)

HEARING OF COMPLAINTS

Notice is hereby given that as of May 1, 2022, the Assessor of the Town of Lowville, County of Lewis, have completed the Tentative Assessment Roll for the current year, and that a copy has been left at the Town Clerk’s Office where it may be seen and examined by any interested person until Grievance Day.

The assessor will be in attendance with the Tentative Assessment Roll at the Town Municipal Building, 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, NY 13367 on the following days:

                Wednesday, May 4                         9am – 1pm

                Tuesday, May 17                              2pm – 6pm

                Wednesday, May 18                       4pm – 8pm

                Saturday, May 21                             9am – 1pm

The Board of Assessment Review will meet on May 26, 2022 at the following time:

4pm to 8pm

At the Town Municipal Building, 5533 Bostwick Street, Lowville, NY  13367 in said town, to hear and examine all complaints in relation to assessments on the application of any persons believing him/herself to be aggrieved.

(Application for filing a complaint and instructional booklets are available from your assessor, town clerk, or the Lewis County Real Property Tax Service Agency.)

Expenditure from Highway Equipment Reserve

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that  at a Town Board meeting held March 17, 2022, the Town of Lowville Town Board adopted a resolution authorizing the expenditure of up to two hundred fifty-eight thousand, nine hundred fifty-one dollars and twenty cents (258,951.20) from the Highway Equipment Reserve Fund for the purpose of purchasing a new 2023 Mack Granite Model GU64FR tandem axle plow chassis with Allison automatic transmission with a Viking Cives plow, wings and sander/dump box .  This resolution is subject to permissive referendum.

Notice Concerning the Examination of Assessment Inventory and Valuation Data

NOTICE CONCERNING THE EXAMINATION OF ASSESSMENT INVENTORY AND VALUATION DATA

(Pursuant to Section 501 of the Real Property Tax Law)

Notice is hereby given that assessment inventory and valuation data is available for examination and review.  This data is the information which will be used to establish the assessment of each parcel which will appear on the Tentative Assessment Roll of the Town of Lowville which will be filed on or before May 1st, 2022.

The information may be reviewed, by appointment, in the Assessor’s Office at 5533 Bostwick Street on 3/30/2022 between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm and on 4/6/2022 between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm.  An appointment to review the assessment information may be made by telephoning the assessor at (315) 376-8070 ext. 5.
